Day 01 · Hanoi
- Day 01
Arrive in Hanoi
Land at Noi Bai and transfer to the Old Quarter. A gentle first walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and a group meal.
The streets are busy; cross slowly and steadily, the scooters flow around you.
- Day 02
Hanoi's Old Quarter
A walking food tour through the Old Quarter - pho, banh mi and egg coffee. Afternoon at the Temple of Literature and the train-street cafe.
Vegetarian options are easy to find; tell the host about allergies.
- Day 03
Ha Long Bay, overnight
Drive east to the bay and board a boat for the night. Limestone karsts, a cave stop and kayaking, then dinner on deck.
You sleep on the boat; leave big bags at the hotel if you can.
- Day 04
Bay to Da Nang
Morning on the bay, then back to Hanoi for a short flight south to Da Nang. Check in near My Khe beach.
Domestic flights are inexpensive; the day is timed around the sailing.
- Day 05
Da Nang and the beach
The Marble Mountains in the morning, then My Khe beach and the Dragon Bridge at dusk. Seafood dinner by the water.
The Dragon Bridge breathes fire on weekend evenings.

To Hoi An
A short drive south to Hoi An. The afternoon is in the Old Town with its lanterns, tailors and Japanese bridge.
Old Town entry tickets cost extra unless they are covered by a guide.
- Day 07
Hoi An at leisure
A free day - cycle to An Bang beach, take a cooking class or a tailor fitting. Meet for a final dinner by the river.
Lantern boats run on the Thu Bon after dark.
- Day 08
Depart from Da Nang
Transfer north to Da Nang airport for flights home, usually via Hanoi or a Gulf hub.
Allow a full half-day for the transfer and check-in.
